Dharma School at Buddhist Church of Florin isn’t just a Sunday School class, it is a place where youth from preschool to high school can learn and grow, guided by mentors and educated in the ways of the Dharma. We seek to foster a community and a support system for kids to have as they come into their own, and to provide a nurturing environment for them to develop their senses of compassion and empathy. Jr YBA

Leaping off of the platform that Dharma School builds up, Junior Young Buddhist Association (JYBA) turns the focus outwards, lending a hand within the community. In JYBA, youth take a more active role in positions of leadership, watched over by a mentor to guide them as they continue to grow. They may also serve as teachers to their younger peers still in Dharma School. Buddhist Women’s Association
Buddhist Women’s Association

The Florin Buddhist Women’s Association is part of the Northern California District Buddhist Women’s Association. The Buddhist Women’s Association is the women’s organization of the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha temples worldwide.  The Buddhist Churches of America (BCA) Federation of Buddhist Women’s Associations (FBWA) is a member of the World Federation of Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha Buddhist Women’s Associations.

Maintain the Heisei Garden, church and parsonage grounds. Ladies originally volunteered to prepare lunch and to help organize and maintain the facility interior. Ladies at the present time are part of the outdoor group pruning around the church grounds and managing the vegetable garden in addition to prepping for lunch.
